How come more men are having trouble with women these days (romantically) or is it just the internet amplifying a minority?

It is not just you. My problem is that I have women wanting me for what I have rather than who I am. This, is a representation of a much larger problem I believe...

It seems the creation of the internet, and its subsequent creation of social media, has normalized throwing away that "connection" in Lew of being with someone for raising their social stature. Yes, there are women out there who are in it for the right reasons, unfortunately, they are becoming more of an oddity.

This has led to those who are more introverted foregoing approaching a woman; they don't believe they have something the woman will want. This person may be the funniest guy in the world, but unfortunately, bank account balances and looks have become more important nowadays.

I may only be 27, but I find myself in a world filled with people more shallow than a kiddie pool. I realize this is a more "Hot take," and I may not exactly be a good representation for the majority, but I do believe this is a universal problem.
