How do you know when God "calls" you to do something?

His voice, in the many ways He speaks, leaves no room for doubt. Trust Him, that He will not forget your needs, that your zeal will not be wasted, but turned to an ever more Godly purpose.

which sounds nice and when you read it you FEEL nice. but this is exactly what i mean when i say i want to punch a hole in the wall. its not on mmck but its just my own personality and my tenacity for Jesus and the bible. so im just going to go unchained for a bit instead of sleeping (where my frustation comes from). i will not be held responsible for what im about to say. or maybe i will i dont care...

IF MOTHER TERESA says she has doubts IF CHARLES SPURGEON says he has doubts IF CS LEWIS says he has doubts IF JOHN CALVIN says he has doubts IF TODAY'S POPE FRANCIS says he has doubts WHO THE FREAKIN CRAP BALLS IS MMCK TO SAY THAT GODS VOICE LEAVES NO ROOM FOR DOUBT?

people like mmck like to come off all wise and hyper spiritual but he is naive and misleading. and i assure you he has many doubts whether or not he likes to admit it. and its ok if you have doubts.

HEY MMCK you said "the secret of god is yours"?? GOD IS NOT A SECRET. god is not vague. he is extremely clear and unapologetic about announcing himself. IT IS WE AS PEOPLE WHO DO NOT TUNE INTO GOD AND LISTEN.

... I AGREE WITH YOU on your point about assuming that god speaks to us in the same way is a well intentioned error... BUT I ACTUALLY DONT AGREE WITH YOU BECAUSE GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH THE BIBLE #lawyerd

and with that being said i digress to my point about the bible being used esoterically and my frustration of how its being generally misused in american culture. and more specifically here why mmck chose to quote some RANDOM verse in revelations as opposed to the two MOST BASIC passages in the bible having to do with Gods calling AND HOW TO RESPOND TO GODS CALLING.

to break it down.

  1. YALL USE THE BIBLE WRONG
  2. STOP READING IT WITH YOUR FEELINGS 3.to ahwakawaka i apologize if this is sounding rude if you knew me you'd know i have a very jovial and sarcastic sense of humor. but i just want to say this to you specifically

the book of Jonah = how a man that didnt want to do God's call responded and was more or less punished but still did it and some people were blessed the book of matthew 26:39 = how GOD responds to a Call that he didnt want to do but still did it without delay.

i say this with love for my christian sister and even my brother mmck please base your ideas about calling mainly(i specifically said mainly not exclusively) on these two verses. and pray openly to god about how you feel. jesus himself said he didnt want to do something. that's very profound and liberating to us christians.
