Just so you know at the camps many changes were made to the camps after liberation (by Allies and Soviets) and visitors are not informed of these changes.

The famous Auschwitz - when you tour the camp the tour guides tell you "Everything is as it was when the Nazis ran it. Nothing has been changed."

Yet if we look online there is plenty of mainstream information regarding many many changes to Auschwitz. Changes to the "shower room" where Soviets knocked out a wall to make the room appear as a large room capable of holding hundreds at a time instead of the two small rooms originally there; brand new "vents" and "shafts" appeared after the Soviets took charge - these vents and shafts are claimed by tour guides to be actual gas vents, at no time do they tell you the Soviets created the vents. Auschwitz has had major changes to it, yet you're told everything is original - why?

When you go to Auschwitz you see Soviet created gas chambers, not gas chambers used by Nazis. Most likely the Soviets re-created the chambers because the Nazis destroyed them, but the point here is they (the tour guides) tell you everything is original. They don't tell you "Well, we re-created this to the best of our ability so we could show the horrors of what happened."

So when you say you were there (at a camp) in 2001 you have no idea what in that camp has been (to use a modern term) photoshopped into appearing as it does.

Not everything we think we know about the events actually happened. Some events are more myth than reality, some events are complete fiction, and many many events are so horrific we wish they were myth or complete fiction rather than the reality they are.

Remember - 30 years ago they would have called you a Holocaust Denier if you didn't believe 4m people were killed at Auschwitz as had been claimed. But also remember about 20 years ago new research showed the Soviets had grossly lied about the number of deaths at Auschwitz and the official number was revised and reduced by 2.5m deaths to 1.5m deaths.

This isn't about holocaust denial - this is about understanding what really happened and only accepting truth about what happened.
