Hugo Chávez statue torn down as death toll rises in Venezuela protests

The economy of Venezuela is in collapse because the supply of oil went way up and is hurting their economy. Who did that increase in supply? Saudi, the US, and the Gulf Arab states? Why do you refuse to acknowledge that this would hurt a country whose economy is primarily based in oil? The assassination attempt on Chavez is an example of American hostility against Venezuela, not anything to do with the economy necessarily.

Those 2000 jobs at GM barely matter in the context of Venezuela's economy. It was also done the other day, like literally a couple of weeks ago. Pretty much has nothing to do with the current state of affairs. This was already happening when they seized it. They probably seized it because they thought that GM was spying on Venezuela. However, I have no idea why they took it.

Why am I even engaging with someone so disconnected from reality?

Speaking as someone who refuses to acknowledge the impact that oil prices has on a country's economy primarily based in oil.
