Hundreds of armed counter-protesters confront Black Lives Matter rally in Ohio

I completely understand that, particularly given that the counter protesters were armed.

So why not call up the governor and request that he deploys Ohio’s National Guard Quick Reaction Force. Every state guard has one and they can put a ~100 man armed security force on the ground in a couple hours. My state had an entire infantry battalion of guardsmen in place within two days of the May 30th riot in Atlanta, so why couldnt/wouldn’t Ohio put troops in place to support Bethels token police force when they’re facing a company sized mob of armed counterprotesters?

Rant over, but eventually a situation is going to arise where they need armed units protecting the unarmed protesters and I doubt if they’ll be there
