IAMA Student Interviewer at a Top 20 School. AMA

Hi there, I just made a post about this but I figured you would be a good person to get advice from on this since you are an interviewer..

I just received my first II from my first choice school and was the first secondary I submitted back in July. In a question that asked what I was going to do during the upcoming year since I am not a student I said: "I am applying to the Americorps Program with the hopes of better understanding inequity in health care and how it affects families and children. I look forward to continuing to learn about health disparities and ways that I, as a health care professional, can reach those in need."

Soooo I ended up not doing Americorps bc my I was able to get full time work as a medical assistant that allowed me more flexibility with hours so that I could help my mom out with taking care of my little brother (picking up carpool, taking to soccer practice, helping with hw etc). In my later applications I had written "if I do not do Americorps I will work full time and pursue my hobbies in the evenings blah blah." I feel awful for not updating this school on what I ended up doing and they are big on service and commitment to working with the underserved (I still have plenty of ECs demonstrating that).

Should I email the school and let them know before the interview or should I wait to address it at the interview? I don't want the interviewer to have planned to asked me about Americorps only to say I didn't end up doing it. I truly didn't even know I had sent in any applications without stating my backup plan, as this one was the first one I submitted and I was set on doing Americorps at the time.

What do you think? (sorry for the long story, just wanted to be thorough)
