If both men and women could get pregnant after coitus with a 50:50 chance either one would have to carry the baby for the term of the pregnancy, how would the world change ?

Again, you're showing a complete lack of understanding as to WHY people are pro-life. It isn't because "God told them to". It's because they believe human life starts at conception. Since, as far as I know, science has not pinpointed the moment a human life becomes a human life, people who believe fetuses are people and should have the same rights as people from day 1 are not going against any scientific facts. To them, abortion is murder and the choice to have an abortion is no different than giving someone a choice to go up to someone on the street and drive a knife into their heart. They don't see that as something someone should have the legal right to do. Not because God or the Pope or their husband or anyone else told them to, but because they view human life and the rights that come with that as starting at a different point than you.

If we could get past the whole "they're trying to control my body!" thing and focus on the core of the debate-- when a human life becomes a human life with human rights-- we'd get much further.
