If life was someday proven to be a simulation, what glitch or anomaly could you point to as a major clue we'd missed?

Did this at a grocery store with this really unique looking guy. Bright orange bowl-cut hair, pretty hefty guy, piercings, not too tall. Definitely not a 'just has that kind of face' guy. And he was DEAD sure he knew me and I was dead sure I knew him. We talked it out for a bit but came up dry and just chalked it up to strangeness. It was so, so weird. Later that year, I saw a woman on the bus that I was like SUPER positive I knew quite well. Like it felt like we were pretty good friends but I couldn't place her in the slightest. She looked at me a few times with no recognition and I didn't want to be a rando on the bus saying weird things so I didn't bring it up but what the heck?
