If pro-lifers didn't want to make abortion illegal, just unthinkable would you switch sides?

But, what if the pro-life dropped that stance…

I'd be curious to hear the 'official' explanation from DC for dropping the key plank from the PL platform just when they're closer than ever (apparently) to their alleged goal. Why the freak-out? Did the Roberts Court call their bluff?

You know if Roe falls, the party's over. Nobody wants this. The GOP collapses. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops starts boarding over all that beautiful expensive glass. The true believers in PL need a new hobby and start experimenting with Prozac.

Roberts! Kavanaugh! Nobody wants this! Besides, the parts list for assembling a manual vacuum aspirator ($26) is all over the internet. Knock yourself out. Go down in history as the store-bought SCOTUS who reversed Roe. And then a month later, reversed themselves again. Wasn't that a party.

And what's the next divisive issue for riling up the base?

If southern white evangelicals are no longer a bloc of single-issue voters captive to the GOP how will the party survive?
