Should Parental obligations extend to unborn babies?

Child support is about the child, not the parent. Children deserve financial support from both parents.

One would argue that forced gestation is for the benefit of the fetus not to punish the mother. Fetuses deserve to be treated with care, that might mean creating the best environment for their development this might mean having to have access to your bodily resources but it's not meant to punish the mother, it is for the fetus.

I am comfortable with this different standard since 1: the interests of a child are very important and the interests of an embryo are not, and 2: paying a bill is inconvenient sure but it is nothing compared to the extreme physical suffering and injury of pregnancy and childbirth.

This is not something PLers can or want to entertain. An unborn child should not be valued based off the stage of development they are in, remember you were on e a ZEF. Everything about forced gestation is about prioritizing the interest of the fetus at the expense of the carrier in the same way that forced child support is for the Best interested of the child at the expense of the payer. The mechanics of it might be different. But the logic behind them is very similar
