If you’re on HRT, please just give it time

How do you work out? If you’re doing a bunch of weightlifting then that’ll clock the shit out of you in my experience. I know a cis woman who is really muscular and honestly she doesn’t “pass.” Her shoulders are much wider than her hips, her breasts aren’t as defined as the muscles around them, and if she were wearing androgynous clothes, it would be very easy to misgender her.

Being trans, you’re already at a disadvantage for having some permanent masculine traits, and working out can highlight those even more. If I do any upper body workouts then my shoulders look massive and my ability to pass is hindered greatly. Gaining weight also messes up my passing. If I get a little chubby, I look quite a bit more masculine, so I try to stay as skinny as I can, keeping my jawline well defined, and my body slim, highlighting my hips and breasts.

It takes a lot of time and trial and error to learn the ins and outs of your “new” body, but you’ll figure it all out eventually. Don’t worry :)
