"If they told everybody what a simple game [investing] was, 90% of the income of the people that were speaking would disappear." Warren Buffett

They've looked at popular analyst picks and the average is about 40% right. Kramer was actually on the high side at 50%. That is, if you flip a coin you have as much a chance as being right as John Kramer.

Same with your hero buffett. I wouldn't be surprised to learn 50% of his picks sputtered out, too.

I also think Warren Buffet is a tad bit modest with what he does. You can't just stick your money anywhere at all.

I mean, you can.

Warren Buffet figures out what companies are managed well and throws his money there long term.

Which, again, doesn't even matter half the time. You can be completely right that the book value of a company far exceeds the share price action, but at the end of the day that doesn't matter. The market does what the market does. Hence the fact that half your picks are gonna go to shit.

The average person just doesn't have that access.

They do now, with the advent of the Internet. You can look up a balance sheet for any publicly traded company in the world. I personally have access to a bloomberg terminal which puts cutting edge news and market info at my fingertips. This is the same Bloomberg terminal that institutional investors use.

The average retail investors is like..... GAME STOP BUY BUY BUY NFTs GROOD.

.. The same GameStop that rallied like 1200% in a single week? Yeah, retail real big dumb dumbs for making that trade... Definitely didn't beat out that billion dollar airline bet Buffett made last year. How'd that end for him again?
