If you're lucky, your tires will never leave the ground when your car is moving

Unless you're 17 and trying to impress a couple of girls with teenage stupidity.

So I grew up in a small town in the middle of nowhere with not very many options regarding entertainment. It is one of those towns where people drive up and down the main boulevard, turning around at Sonic, and occasionally stopping at the car wash to see who's there and socialize before figuring out where we were going to drink that night. THAT kind of town.

Well, one day I was driving around with a friend, his sister, and her best friend. I owned a single cab pickup truck so basically, we were a tight fit. This one road by the middle school had a rather large "bump" for lack of a better word, but for a wreckless teenager, it was seen as an "entertainment opportunity" to use it as a ramp for an automobile. Always joked about, but never done.

So this road was off away from any main streets with very little traffic other than school opening and closing times. I had about half a mile to accelerate. I didn't use the whole half mile... At first.

First, we hit it going 40mph. Up, over, and nothing really fun about it. Turned around, and did it again... But this time, we wanted it to be fun. How do you make it fun? Well, you use that aforementioned stretch of road...

I hit it going almost 80mph. It was something right out of The Dukes of Hazzard. We probably traveled 60 feet in the air before landing, bouncing and eventually skidding to a halt.

The two girls were basically twisted and turned in the cab; one upside down in the seat. Neither was wearing a seat belt.

Looking back on it, I have to say it's in the top 5 stupidest things I've done in my life but, that ass.

I didn't get that ass. But it was a hell of a rush with about as good of a result as could have been under the circumstances. We laughed about it for hours after the adrenaline wore off.

Kids... Don't be stupid behind the wheel, as fun as it can be sometimes. I could have killed myself and 3 innocent people that day. All of my tires left the road for over a second...

I was lucky.
