the saying " you never know what people are going through" is stupid

I remember at my Job the other day I had a lady come up to me and ask a question and I tried to get her to be a little more specific about what she was asking for and we managed to find it.

She was telling me how the first employee she talked to just said "I can't help you." Then ignored her.

Me and this other employee both work in the same area. She sure as heck could have helped or atleast had been more polite. Meanwhile I saw her sitting down instead of doing her Job, she just looked at me then scoffed.

The only thing I feel bad for is that I did use that excuse but then I realized that behavior was unacceptable irregardless.

There's times when it is appropriate to say that. But it shouldn't always be used to execuse shitty behavior.
