I inherited a total mess in Syria and Afghanistan, the “Endless Wars” of unlimited spending and death. During my campaign I said, very strongly, that these wars must finally end. We will soon have destroyed 100% of the Caliphate. It is now time to start coming home.

I don't have particular affinity for anyone in American mainstream media, because they're not journalists anymore, they're pundits. They're "policy marketing" personalities. Their entire role has turned into trying to pitch, convince and sell viewers on specific policy positions and specific ways of thinking. Tucker is absolutely not an exception to that.

I will say, however, at least Tucker wears his policy on his sleeve and doesn't try to masquerade as though he's an impartial journalist like many others do. He's very upfront about being extremely partisan and does not attempt to shroud his open political advocacy behind the facade of "just the news."

That doesn't excuse or palliate the grim and depressing reality that American mainstream media is now just a massive political marketing competition - in which Tucker is an enthusiastic participant. But at least he's not trying (as hard as others do) to package his blatant political advocacy as "news."
