In 2014 PETA euthanized 2,455 of the 3,017 animals it took in in Virginia. Compare that to the entire state of Virginia in 2014 that took in 210,599 and only euthanized 49,302 - less than 25%. Their kill rate in 2016 was 16x that of other private shelters in Virginia.

Don't forget they openly supported euthanizing pit bulls, regardless of their health. "Those who argue against the euthanasia policy for pit bull dogs are naive"

Most other shelters somehow manage to not kill the majority of their animals, except for PETA.
