Bernie is trying to move the party to the left and push for a stronger social democracy like in Northern Europe.

But the reason that they REALLY hate him is that he refers to those countries as “social democracies” while still referring to himself as a “democratic socialist”.

This indicates that he wants to go further and carve out a space for people like myself in American politics who believe in building an economic system based upon cooperation, voluntary associations, and democratic models of common ownership.

They’ll continue to go back and forth between saying he “he’s a socialist who can’t get elected” and “he isn’t a real socialist”

They are right that his platform won’t turn America into a socialist country, but personally I believe Bernie DOES believe in an alternative to capitalism.
