Honestly, it doesn’t totally shock me. She can be very, very inconsistent and I don’t know true intent but sometimes it feels as if she somewhat enjoys pulling the rug out a bit? I don’t know how to explain it exactly but another example would be my whole teen/college years we planned trips together but never took them. She’d get my hopes up, I’d do research myself, budget according to her specifications, plan beautiful and fun moments, etc and it’d always fall through.. sometimes real reasons, but mostly very silly ones.

So I totally was tempering my expectations ahead of time once it became clear that the proposal was imminent. I tried talking to her specifically about the fitting because I was really nervous and wanted her there, she knows a lot about sewing (insecurity about my body but ended up loving my dress!), but ultimately it just became clear it wasn’t a priority.
