I keep getting emails to refinance my loan

You would owe them more principal AND interest. They're being pushy because they want to make money off of you again. I've had car loans and mortgage holders do this to me, and when you think about it (like you are), you'll realize they're just upselling you.

The only time this benefits you is if you are facing significantly higher interest loans that could be paid off by this one at a significantly lower rate. For example, if you had $15,000 in credit card debt or a car loan at 25% interest, and your "refinance" offered you that money at 5-10%, you'd be saving a couple thousand per year.

It's just like going to a hotel and getting insane room service offers. Just cause you paid your tab doesn't mean they can't still make more off of you. You could just go to the convenience store across the street and save $10 (or spend it on gum).

Also keep an eye out for refinance fees if you ever consider this offer.

And yes. Those ads are predatory. They make it sound like free cash, and it's not.
