BC has a unique issue of being the transit through point, which is still permitted and just now are measures in place to enforce a leave-by-date on US citizens once they enter Canada. Why these measures weren't being commonly used earlier, ask Ottawa. Meanwhile Ontario police have lost the ability to use the Covid program that would assist them to enforce the quarantine measures for people who enter the country, or people who test positive.

As a citizen, you reaching out to your local representatives does more, quicker, than officers trying to make recommendations based on experience from within their respective agencies.
