you're right, and that's why the answer to these threads is always "you won't like it" - to even make one of these threads it means the OP has bought into some mystic "there's a magic in brooklyn/LA/whatever" and they are wanting confirmation that the magic is inherent to the city. its not!

at most, changing cities represents an opportunity to shuffle up your life and make new friends, and maybe by luck and effort those friends will be better than your hometown crew, but there's nothing inherent in these cities that will do it for you. nobody can answer this question for you because it's about what you have in your current situation and deciding if it's worth blowing up for a new life
