My credentials are actually specific to blogging, which is not the same as being credentialed as a reporter, I don't need a national press card, and I had to be "sponsored" by an actual reporter to get credentials for Tokyo, which meant that a reporter had to argue my case in front of the USOC. I still try pretty fucking hard to do everything by the book, but occasionally, like with the Steve Penny selling Olympic team spots tweets, I fuck up as a human. Me having conflicting opinions about Texas Dreams is not a "journalistic fuck up" no matter how you try to justify it as such. My informal comments about the program on my personal twitter account and in the comments section of my website are not the same as reporting on the situation, and I'm also allowed to change my personal opinions based on new information as it comes in. It would be irresponsible if I didn't, actually.
