Laying out the benefits and types of meditation

I'm not trying to be confrontational, but, meditation is emptying the mind, and observing the present moment non-judgmentally, is only that, and nothing more.I now understand why folks here have trouble maintaining their practice. It's because they are just sitting there mostly wondering why. What I do is more like a, mind blowing experience, where I lose all semblance of outer reality, and thoughts become impossible to latch on to , even if I wanted.Waves of sensation envelope my body and any, pain or discomfort, disappear as soon as I'm aware of them.My name dissolves and everything around me becomes me.I then become so relaxed, I can't feel my body, or even know that I have one. What I just described became my meditation practice.I started with sitting Zazen and mantra meditations, and they progressed naturally in a few months, into great depth and spiritual grandeur. I always thought that everyone meditated like that. Now I know that there are people that, just sit there, and think it is meditation.Do they do that for years and years?
