indeed a soldier who believes in no God and who by definition would seek self-accountability (being that there was no God to give reprimand or reward) would deem it fair and just to commit war atrocities and deem his own cause as fair and just, knowing the opposing side fully views themselves in the same light; rendering the comparison equal.
no, that can't mean they commit these acts of their own beliefs - of fear and the desire to protect. those things arent what the other side commits, and surely they commit their crimes in the name of a deity.
