Living wise, NYC or LA?

IF I SHOULD FIND A DIFFERENT SUB TO POST IN, PLEASE DO REDIRECT ME.

So lately I've been stuck as to which city I'm really wanting to live at. I have a couple thousand (9 to be exact, not too bad for a recent college grad imo) saved up for whichever place I decide to take the plunge in. I've made a pro and con list of the two cities, which I will post further down, and since I'm posting on this sub I'm very open to any and all opinions.

Quick about me; I'm 22 and involved in the entertainment industry, so acting, theater, modeling etc. I feel this plays a huge factor in where I live, but as of now I'm just asking for general opinions on the two cities (huge plus if you're in the industry or if you've lived in both cities). I'm from the east coast, but before you say "well move to NYC, it's closer!" read on to get an idea of where I'm coming from.

I recently visited LA about a month or so ago for the first time (first time in California as well) and fell in love with it. For the past 10 months I've always felt it was the place for me. I'm all about the perfect weather, beach, the movie capital of the world is there. I enjoy the "chill" atmosphere, I'm a laid back person and quite a lot of people gave off that vibe. It almost seems too perfect. Only qualms I've had were quite honestly some of the people I met did seem "shallow" in a sense. They just didn't want to talk, standoffish, or some seemed pretty into more what they were talking about and less about the conversation as a whole. This was my personal experience. I'm not saying all people were like this, just enough that it stuck out, I did meet some really awesome people. As of now, I do not have a car. I know a car is necessary as hell now that I've visited there. The change of atmosphere I loved. I'm extremely over winter. I hate the snow and the snow hates me, when winter rolls around I definitely get the winter blues and it's just not a great time of the year for me. So that weather spoke volumes in what I'd be dealing with.

Now with the Big Apple, I was born there. I love New York, it's hard to meet someone who doesn't love the city. Everything is close as we know, with the NYC metro being the best in the States. I lived in the city over the summer for classes, longest I've stayed there and it was fantastic. It's one thing to just know the city, but living there is a different story. It really never sleeps and the vibes it brings are indescribable to say the least. Unfortunately NYC also hit me in the face at one point and I thought to myself "everything is too close". It felt like a cesspool at one point, but hey that's what you get when you cram over 7 million people in a city. It seems like with a couple thousand in LA you could get a nice spot to live, where as in New York you're lucky if you can get an apartment with a closet. Rent is so inflated there it is INSANE. Winter hits as we all know hard on the east coast, and being cold as hell in New York is not fun at all, especially when you're waiting around to go from uptown to downtown or vice versa.

So here's my (small) pro and con list I've managed to make over the past month:

NYC Pros/cons/things that'll be there

Pro -public transportation -lots to do, everything is close -home is close -know it well -know plenty of people

Con -winter -very expensive -NEED something gym related

LA Pros/cons/things that'll be there

Pro -weather -more geared towards my industry (TV, film) -change of atmosphere

Con -NEED something gym related -CAR (more expenses) -expensive -know virtually no body

Trust me, I know this is a decision that only I can make. I just enjoy the community aspect of Reddit and having a ton of opinions besides just one or two.
