Load up a new (to me) iPad

Download all the free Bibles to your iPad (and your phone while you're at it). If I am without wifi or cellular service, I still can read my Bible.

Yes, I still have my hard copy study guides and Bibles. I still prefer to read "real" books for everything else, but for some reason I almost exclusively use the digital version for Bible reading and devotion stuff. I think it is because I can have so much stuff instantly at my fingers, illuminated too in case I wake up from a horrible dream and I have to flee to the Bible right this instant. Some restaurants still don't have free wifi or if I am on a plane, I have all the Bibles on my person. It is the most wonderful thing to have instant an unfettered access to God's word 365/24/7!

The NIV is under copyright so it costs, but it goes on sale somewhere all the time. The ESV is free, as are the KJV and many more.

I personally use different versions because: one version for devotional so and study, one for free reading, and one I only use to read it front to back. I always have several reading plans at once. No set timeframes but they are always exactly where I left off. Trust me when I say that I can lose bookmarks in both physical and digital versions.

But, all the Bibles. Also, for me Spurgeon's Morning and Evening are part of my routine. I am retired, disabled, and have no family. I have no real need to keep a schedule, so my different spiritual routines are that much more important. I have to start my day with Verse of the day, a couple chapters free form reading, Spurgeon, bad a banana. Or my day just won't be right!

The iPad makes things so convenient. It truly is wonderful to just get used to and take for granted that you can have a huge library and never ending spiritual buffet in one tiny device. That living water? Once you taste it, even though you never thirst again, you can never get enough of it. iPad enables you to have that well always at your side, to sip from all day and all night, wherever you are. Stay hydrated...
