As a low wage blue collar worker, I agree.

Inflation happens when excess money is pumped into the economy. What's really happening is people raising the price of goods and services because they don't want to lose the profit margins that currently exist. Yes small business might be hurt, and yes I understand that not everywhere is a big evil corporation, but in most places the price of goods and services don't need to raise to unrealistic levels. They only have to raise so high because NO ONE is willing to lower the profit margins they are enjoying right now.

I honestly think humans should be expensive to employ. We should be using machines to better our lives. Technology and Innovation should be used to liberate us from having to work 40 hours or more per week. We as humans should be allowed to enjoy the short time we live. For the first time ever, we have the ability to do just that. We can increase productivity while freeing ourselves from "work" and instead focus on things we want to do. I don't think anyone wants to work 40+ hours a week. All anyone wants is the income that comes from the work. The technology exists and will continue to get better and it's time we start acting like it.

As a supporter of the Basic Income, I believe there are better solutions out there to raising the minimum wage, but no one wants to give credibility to those solutions. Raising the minimum wage is a step in the right direction. Once people see how machines can liberate us from the current status quo, maybe it will then be possible to move on from the "perfection" that is Capitalism. (Just a FYI, we don't have a true capitalist society. A real capitalist society doesn't have labor laws, work weeks, minimum wage, ect, ect. A real capitalist society is a brutal pyramid that only benefits the few.)

Universal healthcare works. Take a look at all the other developed countries and you will see that while it's not perfect it is a step in the right direction. There are millions of people who don't have healthcare that could have their lives saved because of it. Regulations would serve the American people far better than privatizing is would. Limiting access to healthcare doesn't benefit the majority of the American people. Now, take a look at the cost of healthcare. What we are seeing today is what happens when you take away regulations. It used to be that prices for procedures were affordable and you weren't overcharged on something as cheap as a pill. It used to be that you were billed for the actual work done at affordable rates, and not at the rates an insurance company decided on. It used to be that we cared about people and not about profit. (They can't legally refuse you, but they also don't have to cure you. As long as you are helped and deemed in stable enough condition that you will not die, they can and most likely will dump you.) Healthcare today is a business first, and a provider second. They are in the business of healing you, but only if you can pay. Healthcare should be there to take care of you or a loved one when needed. It should NOT be run for profit. This is not okay. It is not okay for the American people to be treated this way by their own country. It doesn't make for a better society.

I've rambled on a bit here, but the main thing anyone should take away from this is that it's time to change the system to benefit all Americans. As a millennial, I honestly believe that Bernie is the man who's going to start shifting the balance back to the average American. He's the first step of many things that need to be done to make life better for everyone.
