I understand the stain of emotional baggage people can carry, but I have some strains myself so I can't really hold both of our bags. I'm nice to a point, considerate to a fault, and patient with others, but life must go on and if it means I can't see someone anymore, then so be it

but OP, i disagree with the cursed thing, a curse can be the same as a blessing, you can have or miss both, but some people just make mistakes and tread the former and miss the latter. it might actually not be their fault, but if it is you wouldn't call it a curse anyway.

plus with the hard times right now, everyone is or should be on crisis mode or near crisis mode at all times anyway. never too late to be prepared, even prepared to end a relationship.
