LPT: Getting angry with people for making mistakes dosnt teach them not to make mistakes it teaches the to hide their mistakes

One of the best managers I ever worked for taught me patience.

One time I made a mistake. Like, I knew not to do this certain thing, but slipped, and the thing happened. The problem was that some people thought you were supposed to do what I did on accident, but I knew better due to training.

Anyways, I had to call him up and be like, "Hey, yeah, so I dropped the entire lower (motor) unit in the lake, and it is gone."

And he was like, "Dude what the fuck why didn't you tie it off? WHAT THE FUCK!!!"

And I was like, "I slipped and couldn't hold the weight, so had to drop it in the drink."

And he was like, "........ok well just order another one. Don't worry about it, shit happens."
