If 16 year old you could see you now, what would 16 year old you think about your life?

50 years have passed since I was 16 and I think I've exceeded my own expectations by quite a fair margin. At 16 I was pretty much a rudderless and unmotivated stoner in a dysfunctional family situation. Today I'm very comfortably retired, live an active lifestyle and I'm married to the most incredibly wonderful woman you'd ever want to meet. The transition was a long and gradual process that made a very significant change for the better when I met the woman who would soon be my wife. Before that there were all kinds of dangerous behaviours, drugs, lots of women you would not want to introduce to your mother and plenty of other bad shit. Later there were two pretty serious rounds of cancer and a triple bypass in between that I kicked to the curb. My adult life might have started out a little rough and had a few challenges along the way, but right now I'm the luckiest guy I know.
