LPT: If you're hiring a photographer for your indoor wedding, look for indoor photos in their portfolio.

Right. And the Strobist blog is such a great resource to people new with a speedlight. Hell they're cheap compared to fast lenses. I learned from that, albeit using a Godox/Flashpoint kit than what he recommends.

I think it's easy for any competent photographer to see motion/hand blur in a wedding series caused by an unexperienced photographer in low light. I just read an article on eirher Fstoppers or PetaPixel with a photographer that was completely unprepared for a wedding and was trying to time out their shots to the flash of others phones. It would be hilarious if it wasn't ruining someone's one in a lifetime day. Rather, it's just sad for the couple. Many people that aren't photographers don't understand it from a photography standpoint.

I should add, I understand people may not be able to afford an experienced pro charging 3-4k, but they should at least be able to get some decent shots if said person wants to call themselves a pro.
