LPT: never tell friends and family you’re really into something(collections, movies, fandom) you’ll never receive a gift you like again.

Oh god this exact same thing for my boyfriend of almost 5 years and my family. He's very outgoing but rarely really opens up around them (they live a couple hours away so we see them every couple months for family bdays and thats it). He has gotten so much Star Wars crap for every gift-giving holiday, the only reason it has shifted is half my family is super hard to buy for so for Christmas we started just doing Secret Santa, and have a google doc for each family member where everybody BUT that person can add ideas. I've started filling his list with anything I can think of besides Star Wars and just put a note on there saying "anything Star Wars ask me first, he has so much stuff and don't want duplicates/he only is looking for specific SW stuff anymore" and they seem to have finally gotten the hint lol.

I get it, it's hard thinking of new presents every year especially if you don't talk to somebody much about their other interests, but man do we have to get creative about what to do with all his random posters and toys and figurines he's gotten.
