LPT: When memorizing a speech, memorize the main points instead of memorizing word for word.

Here is a trick too memorizing those main points too, especially if its very long.

Once you figure out all your main points, and put them in a list, break them into manageable sections, with each section comprising of the related points of course, try to keep them to 3-5 for each section at most.

Then create a acronym/mnemonic device for each section, with each part of the acronym comprising of a simple sentence!

I create flash cards that look like this.

Flashcard 1 - Frontside
    F
    U
    P
    A

Flashcard 1 - Backside
    F - "Sentence where subject/whatever starts with F"
    U - "Sentence where subject/whatever starts with U"
    P - "Sentence where subject/whatever starts with P"
    A - "Sentence where subject/whatever starts with A"

I've done this a few times, using a flash card app, and it is crazy how easy it is to remember every point this way! Then just drill them home until it gets to the point you can name all the acronyms, and their related sentence without looking at them!
