Man charged with assault after punching anti-Trump protester outside US Bank Arena

Except that’s not remotely what you’re implying. The reader is expected to infer the context of the conversation that is occurring around your comment and of which your comment is a part. This completely politicizes your comment to directly imply that it’s acceptable in this instance to let this obvious douchebag sit in jail through Election Day as a form of denying him the Right to vote, since you do not approve of who he would likely vote for in the 2020 election.

This very same terrible precedent has—and could again be—been used to directly disenfranchise voting in the past. Why would you casually suggest, imply, allow the reader to infer through context, allude to, or facetiously mock the idea that this would ever be a reasonable practice?
