Megathread: Intelligence Community Whistleblower Report Released; Alleges President Used Power of Office to Interfere in 2020 Election

What blows my mind is how so many people (Mueller, Maguire, etc) kick away the legal hot potato because they want to do things "by the book" even though the book doesn't tell you what to do when the ultimate authorities (the AG, the President, etc) are the subjects of the investigation / complaint.

Everyone punts back to Congress, and by extension the Senate, who are also complicit.

This is all terrible but I fail to see how it will get Trump out of office. Nothing stops the Senate from continuing the usual stonewalling and running interference.

And as long as they help ensure the 2020 elections are vulnerable, they will get their second term and further consolidate power.

I'm not feeling optimistic about any of this.

Someone tell me how this is any different from any of the other scandals that have plagued this administration to date.
