Mirena IUD removal

I have had 2 Mirena IUDs. You shouldn’t be experiencing any pain, especially after 5 months. The pain seems to indicate that something isn’t right. Personally, I would shell out the money and see the gyno. I had a bit of a complication with my last removal and I was glad it was my gyno who was more familiar with the IUD and my body. If there is something wrong, you want an expert there so your cervix isn’t damaged or hurt. Personally, with such a delicate and important area of my body, I wouldn’t risk going to a GP.

However, if you can find a GP that has gyno experience, that would also work. I recently switched my GP to a Dr who did both. You will have to do a little research on Doctors but I bet you could find one. Sorry, I should have typed that part first but I’m on mobile.

Regardless, good luck. Be sure you take some ibuprofen before removal and again after. Hope all goes well!
