The miserable facade of Post Modernism in one photo

I love this work culture! My old office had bright lighting, big windows, and desks between them, with the computers facing the brick wall.

We had a nice open day-lit space in the middle, could still talk to the other people, had privacy because our computers faced the wall, and didn’t have any glare because the wall stopped the light from hitting our screens directly.

We also had a fridge stocked with La Croix and soft drinks, plus a coffee and water station off to one side, so we could grab drinks whenever.

The culture was really friendly, the boss trusted us to do our thing but worked upstairs if we ever needed to grab him for a problem. We could go out for lunch, or crash on the bean bags in the break area, but often we just grabbed food and brought it back to our desks because we liked talking to one another.

That inadvertently increased productivity because we would help each other trouble shoot issues even though we weren’t working (never felt pressured to work off the clock though).
