MRW people say that poor, working class conservatives will lose their insurance if the ACA is repealed by the Republicans...

If you oppose progress, feel free to move to a country where they still pay for their medical treatment by trading chickens.

Single-payer is coming. You can and will kick and scream about it. That's fine. Your screams will be overpowered by the people whose lives are dramatically improved by the progress.

You from 170 years ago: Negroes are animals! They should never be free! If you want free negroes, move to Africa where they're free.

You from 110 years ago: Monopolies are a part of capitalism! If you hate capitalism, move to a socialist country!

You from 50 years ago: We can't afford a single-payer system for our seniors!! If you want single payer communist health-care, move to Cuba or the USSR!!

You today: We don't want/need Single-payer healthcare! If you want it, move to Australia/Canada/UK/any other developed Western country and you can get it!!

Well, guess what. Your backwards ideology lost. It always loses. Humanity will grow and evovle, in spite of your efforts to keep everything the same. You will lose this culture war your buddies always talk about. Your side gets temporary victories, but the arc of the universe bends toward justice and order. Enjoy your temporary victory. Enjoy it while you can. Your numbers may feel inflated right now because the wealthy folks got their man in the white house (I voted for Bernie, I'm no Hill-dog), but it's a temporary victory. You will eventually, during my lifetime, see Single-Payer, higher taxes on the wealthy, and all of the other shit that EVERY OTHER DEVELOPED WESTERN COUNTRY DOES. Right here in the USA. For better or worse, it is coming. Love it or hate it, it is coming. Kick and scream and fight and yell, but the will of the people will overpower your unusual attraction to the dark ages and we will not have to settle for bankruptcy just because my wife is sick. We will not have to choose between paying our electric bill or paying for my daughter's prescriptions. Keep fighting. Keep believing your philosophy. And enjoy this moment where you seem to have won. When it's all said and done, just like the people who oppose abolition, integration, Social Security, Medicare, the EPA, the Interstate-Highways, anti-Trust law, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Civil Rights Act... just like people who opposed those steps eventually lost and were proven wrong, you too will one day live in a USA where healthcare is a basic, guaranteed, protected right.

And you'll be happy you do, when that day has come and been gone for a while.

Good night. I'm kinda tired.
