My [25 F] boyfriend [27 M] of 10 years is breaking up with me for wanting to tour with my band - am I being irrational?

Let's be honest. This has nothing to do with the musician/touring aspect. He literally does not want you to go away for a week, with a bunch of guys. If the genders in this story were reversed "I'm a guy and I am going on tour for a week with a bunch of my close female friends, why is my girlfriend being unreasonable? " this whole sub would tell you you're a jerk and not considering your SO'sfeelings.

The fact is you've already shown that you don't consider his feelings.. When he told you he was uncomfortable with your best male friend, you told him that you were picking your own life. You can phrase it how you want, but you said, look I want this, deal with it.

This is going to be a problem again and again in your relationship, so you should break up with him and find a guy who is comfortable with you having many male friends. But the fact is there are very few people (male or female) who would be comfortable with their significant other having predominantly members of the opposite sex as their friends.
