My ex has a lot of likes on hinge... is this the norm?

Terrible time in your life to be using OLD honestly. It invites comparisons that are truly unfair.

Attention is stacked for the top fifth of women, and the top third of men. For women, the ideal age on OLD is 22. For men its right around 30.

You're absolutely on point with the race issue, massive impact there. Even if you're hot as hell and a damn fine catch, you'd still be in the bottom third on your very best day.

This is not a realistic comparison in any way. He's on the top of the stats game, and you're low low middle to bottom. It has nothing to do with your intrinsic value, or what you bring to the table. You could be the most awesome person in a thirty mile radius, and he could be the literal fucking devil, and the stats would play out the same. The promotional algorithm is going to limit you severely, you're hobbled, right from the start. The game is rigged, you're not at all likely to win, I mean, do what you want, but at that point, why even play?

Get out of that crowd. Find real world methods where you have fair value. It seems like it would be harder, but when you factor in how badly you're getting worked over OL, it's really not. Higher effort, sure, but you're not being unfairly shoved to the bottom of barrel. The results are going to be much more realistic, far more comparative. You're giving way too much credit to the shitty odds you've got going here. Its not the truth, it's a monetized algorithm. Dont let it get into your head.
