I'm uncut, and European, so I'm coming at this with an obvious bias.

But from my understanding, removing the foreskin forces the glans to become far less sensitive as it has to cope with the elements, and daily wear and tear from clothing. If I walked around with my foreskin pulled back, I'd be very sore after just ten minutes. It's an incredibly sensitive part of a man's body.

I can take a step back from my own bias, and understand this isn't a simple thing to deal with, culture, tradition, and a lot of misinformation ("omg but it's so dirty") plays a role into it.

I'm glad you've got your son's best interests at heart, and I'm sure your wife would understand this too with better context on the whole situation.
