My girlfriend of 6 months and I are taking our first road trip together this weekend. What do I need to know about how to handle this first major trip away from home for both of us together?

People like to road trip differently. For example, I like to have plans and layouts. My BF is the exact opposite. Anyway, I guess discuss how you like to do things (do you like to plan? do you like schedules? early riser?) and find a middle ground or take turns doing things the way you each prefer.
