You need to open a new bank account in a different bank, and move your money into it. Speak with HR at work and set up direct deposit of your paychecks into your new account. DO NOT give your mother access, passwords or a card to access your new account. Be prepared that she will make you leave the home, and you may want to contact homeless shelters, or domestic violence shelters that may be able to help, if you have no friends or family you can stay with. If she refuses to let you leave, becomes violent or threatens you with violence, please call the police.

Secure your personal documents and find a safe place to store them out of the home, like with a trusted friend. You may also want to move any valuables and personal items out of the home when your mother is not home.
