My parents are making me move out when I turn 18, which is in eight months. I have no job, no education (botched homeschooling), and no car. How can I save money in preparation to move?

Adding some info as on the previous similar post, check manual labor work. they pay is decent you don't need to pay extra for work equpiment and in some cases it will give you a place to live for free.

I'm not in the US but I expect the same to apply to you as it apply around me.

Expect a good pay within a six month to a year if you are concrete man or a welder, you don't need to have a college degree and you can start working directly from the street and get your certificate on the go (at least in my place don't know about your state, but I expect the reality being the same even if the law says otherwise). On Avg A good concrete worker will get a better pay than a stem major,in my experience an Avg welder will get higher pay than a concrete worker.

I don't know how about the farming gigs in the US, but here at my place the pay is above average.

No matter where you are going to work, teach your self about taxes, about credit score and avoid any type of a loan or pay in parts as long as you can. it sound very promising to take a study loan or just a bank loan but you will pay few times more and the interest will be a heavy bargin later. I had to pay almost two times the amount of many I took when I took a loan when I was young and stupid. If you must take a loan never miss a pay and if you can't pay once contact them and make arrangements so it will not hit your credit score.

When you are going to get yourself a living, make sure the cost of living is not higher than 25% of your free income. free income is the amount of money you are left from your paycheck after paying for utilities, food and debt. that sounds harsh but that is the max amount of safe expense you will do when you take your mortgage.

Check your financial options, when you get a salary even very small one you may have an option to open a study account (which has a nice interest on what you put into the account). many banks do not advise that anymore but if you have that near you consider it. I got myself almost 3% avg during the latest seven years (that is a very good interest at my options).

As long as you have dental and medial care/insurance, check your teeth and overall health. I know guys who had to pay $10K to fix their teeth when they learned that they had a problem for many years and didn't check because they had been to lazy.

Contrary to others here , I would not suggest you to burn bridges right now you can wait with it later. your story may actually help you to get into one of the dieversity programs. And if your parents earn less than 40K it might be actually free for you.

I know many don't know that, but the top unis have a very nice economical help. don't avoid it because you think it will cost a fortune check it! in some cases you will not pay a dime 1 2.

What you can do is get your papers, use every single resource you have now. if you have any factories that allow apprentice work use it , they will teach you stuff that cost huge amount of money later.
