My summer of 2015 experience, and why staff accountability is important (long post).

Hey OP, you made a lot of valid points that I also noticed over the course of the summer. The first couple of weeks were definitely unorganized, especially the first. We never did get those water breaks as promised by our corps director, and injuries, especially yours, should not have been overlooked. I'm glad you brought these to everyone's attention because I did feel like we were not treated well for being professional musicians and athletes. I'd also like to say to the people attacking him and trying to discredit what he said that if OP is the person I believe him to be, then he did not sit out most of the time, whine about his problems. He pushed through a majority of the time, besides when he was vomiting on the sidelines or feeling bad. The people bagging on OP were either a.)not in his section and did not see or talk to him often, or b.)did not even march with this corps this summer and have no right to attack him. After this past summer, I knew I wasn't going back to this corps because it was not run well. However the staff OP was talking about are now gone, as well as the corps director, who IMO did not do a good job at all. The returning staff for 2016 are very qualified and caring for the members. Things are starting to show improvement and I will be returning to audition for 2016 in hopes that these problems are fixed. I know a lot of people are going to avoid this corps from now on, but I just want everyone to know that I honestly believe it will get better. If you have your doubts, I would urge you to at least come to the audition camp and experience it for yourself. I understand that this corps isn't for everyone, but one persons opinion shouldn't decide whether or not you should march here. OP, I'm terribly sorry about how your summer went and I was extremely sad to see you go. You had good work ethic and a lot of potential and its very upsetting that you were not able to finish out the season. I'd strongly recommend at least returning to the audition camp and reconsider your thoughts on this corps. But, if you choose not to, I completely understand and wish you the best of luck in your future drum corps endeavours.
