"The myth that capitalism only rewards the rich"

A terrible article that bases it's argument on cherry picking and uses a highly untrustworthy source (The Heritage Foundation) that is funded by capitalists designed to convince people that what is in the interests of the capitalists is also the best thing everyone else.

Think critically about this. Do you trust Obama when he goes on stage and tells you how awesome of a job the government is doing at saving the economy, therefore all criticism of the government is invalid? No, as you shouldn't. You also shouldn't put all your trust into capitalists when they tell you that capitalism is the best thing since sliced bread, therefore all criticisms of capitalism are invalid.

Also, economic growth that trickles down to all doesn't justify the exploitation within capitalism. Think about it this way. Stalinism, as terrible as it was, still provided quick economic growth that trickled down to everyone. Does that justify the seriously unfree conditions that people lived under throughout Stalinism? Not at all. Hell, even under slave societies, the conditions that slaves lived in gradually increased over time with economic growth. Does that justify slavery? Of course not.

Also, can we PLEASE stop using Singapore as a monument for libertarianism? Singapore is one of the least libertarian countries I can think of. Sure, they may have low taxes, but the laws there are so incredibly intrusive and restrictive, I don't see how anyone could use libertarianism and Singapore in the same sentence. I mean, a kid was just recently jailed there for criticizing their Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew. They don't even have basic free speech rights. Singapore is not a libertarian role model country in the slightest.
