We need this Roman

Look at it this way:

You're being asked to do a speech in front of your literature class that you're kinda used to, after having been there for two months now. Being amazing isn't a necessity because the class is going to help you improve along the way. But, you're comfortable there and with yourself so you do pretty well.

Instead of you remaining there till the year's over, you do so well that you get skipped ahead early and are then put into mainly group projects where you only have to do a third of the work you're used to.

A little over a year later your group splits up. One guy gets put back into a normal schedule, one is so well liked by the principle and other higher ups that they refuse to let him receive a bad grade, and you? Well, you're now the one student that they put at the forefront of everything. Whenever they need a student to speak, show off their academic skills, encourage other students, travel to other schools, conduct meetings, whatever, they choose you. On top of that, you're pressured to do extraordinarily well, with them constantly reminding you that mistakes can't and won't be tolerated.

You being put in this position has you nervous just naturally since you weren't ready and had close to no preparation for it. Other students are giving you mixed reactions, as some love how "into" the school you are; whereas others dislike you since they feel other, more deserving students should be in your position and that you were hotshot into your role without people really getting to know you. Your old study group is often brought up, since both members spent the past decade or so studying on a daily basis and traveling abroad whereas you just started taking school seriously a few years prior. On top of that, it's highly believed that you're only here because you come from an influential family, which stacks things against you even more. You're given a lot of awards and accolades that everyone assumed you'd get, just because of how much of a teacher's pet you are.

So now, here you are. A guy that's at the top of the mountain that's barely liked even though you technically should be. A guy that no one feels deserves things, and that overall just isn't happy where he's at -- but can't turn back now. And through it all, you can't be yourself. You have to remain the school's figurehead until they realize that you being there simply just isn't working.
