[NeedAdvice] How do you keep in mind what you're working toward?

I only do things i enjoy.

If i stop enjoying something i generally stop, take a walk and get away from any distractions, like phones, monitors, think about what i am supposed to be doing and get back to something else i might enjoy. It took me over half a year of nothing to realize things like video games where extremely boring on the long term. Once you become so good at it then there is not any challenge left its just so boring.

I've learned programming, by enjoying learning it. Has soon has a book became boring, i thrown it on the side and read another one.

You'll need to work on long term satisfaction really hard to build your self up to be able to accomplish your goals, there is so much difference between long term satisfaction and short term satisfaction, long term never goes away, its something you can think about each day, short term is boring after a while, its like having sex every day with a different prostitute, its really fun at first, but then it just gets old unless you meet an awesome.... prostitute i guess..... you get the point....

I do what i enjoy, i try to give my brain some, long term satisfaction, that means anything i can look back on and smile. Be it even if its a 2 days module build project, it's still something to look back on.

Just remember this, if the goal or project you chose is to large, you wont enjoy it. This is like a function, you have a minimum and a maximum effort to put in. Get to big and it just becomes a grind, to small and you'll get nothing out of it.

So your answer is, you don't remind your self of what you enjoy doing. Seriously, if you forgot, it wasn't enjoyable in the moment. You find a reason to enjoy it, or don't do it. Be it, for money, good relationship, mental stability, anything. Do research on the subject, a lot of it, if you don't enjoy it you just do more research until you hate it. Your brain is no different then anyone else, it tricks its self into liking certain things, and you need in exchange to trick it into liking other things.

That's what i think about it, maybe you don't, but try really hard to look for it, a way to think about it, you can read into philosophy, psychology, social skills, anything that has to do with humans.... don't try to fix something until you understand why you do something... you know? It's bad practice, it makes you skip over why you yelled at that old lady... or why you decided not to do something... there's a whole lot of things to be understood, i am a logical person, which might be why it helped me quite a lot.

In anyways, hope something in here helps you, gl out there.
