New rider here, is it normal to be afraid of going to the ass station?

I ride like I’m being chased by the devil on track, yet I still think the only time I’ve ever intentionally pulled any wheelies was just gassing it too much from a launch. I can’t afford the risk of dropping it when I wanna ride daily.

Confidence on the bike comes from seat time and practicing what you want to learn. If you want to learn to steer, go to the closest empty parking lot you can find, spend a few hours riding slowly and learning the feel of steering at slow speeds and how to correct uncomfortable inputs. If you can do it slow, it’s much easier as you speed up.

Seat time is crucial. Don’t rush yourself to perform beyond your abilities. Once you want to wheelie, learn to slowly pick the wheel up in a parking lot somewhere until you keep it up. You can learn throttle or clutch ups. If you want to learn to go fast, go to the track and take a course. But nothing will replace just sheer seat time…
