[MODPOST] CRT Mod Elections

Just be careful to clearly define what is and isn't allowed, and to take the time to personally message people whose content you remove explaining in plain terms why this image, versus another, was removed.

My biggest frustration with r/moto isn't that they filter content, it's that they do it incredibly inconsistently and hypocritically. For example, there's a post on the front page of r/crt right now that's a woman with her dirt bike.

That was removed from r/moto - but there are dozens of similar photos on the front of moto, in fact, there are some that are far, far, far less interesting, or the thing in the photo that makes it interesting is not motorcycle related but it's allowed to remain.

The result of their filtering is that the entire forum is "I got hit", "I almost got hit", "someone stole my bike", or "I'm a total new rider with a generic question which for some reason isn't removed even though there's a sticky for this sort of thing".

It's never really clear why one post, which is against their rules, is left while a dozen others are removed. And if you ask them, they just get mad at you and say they're "human" - they never change, or give a line-by-line explanation, or accept any possibility that they're wrong, they just run the sub by their gut understanding of having been doing it a few years, which makes it impossible for new posters to actually understand their rules.

If your rule is "move the bike from your driveway, do a wheelie" - fine, it's freaking clear, "do hooligan things" - again, totally clear. Just don't fall into deleting some hooligan things but not other hooligan things. Some driveway photos but not others. Etc.

Because that's what r/moto does and that's what's really infuriating - you should never see an image on the front page sitting there for a day with hundreds of upvotes that would be deleted if you were to post a similar type of image on another day.
